From the Community: Collective assessment and funding of Public Art Projects in Durham
From the Arts Advisory Board: monitoring, advice, and the safeguards that due process and due diligence have been followed throughout the projects. In the public domain, due process matters.
In other words:
Artist you are the leader of your project, it is up to you to focus energies, gather support, find a space for your public art project.
Community you are the judge and enabler of the project (to fund or not to fund, to grant space or not to grant space, those are some of the questions)
Arts advisory board you are the monitors and safe keepers of such efforts.
